How much does car detailing cost in Kansas City?
Every quote is built around your vehicle rather than a flat rate, because the three things that move the price most are size, condition, and the package you choose. A well-kept sedan on a maintenance detail is a very different job from an SUV with heavy pet hair or a truck that hasn't been touched in two years. How long does a detail take?
It depends on the service. On the interior, an Interior Refresh runs about 30 to 45 minutes, and an Interior Revival takes one to two hours. On the exterior, Express Shine is roughly an hour, and Signature Gloss takes one to two. Paint correction and ceramic coating are each full-day services, since the correction work and the coating cure both need time to be done properly. Window tint is usually a few hours, depending on how many windows you're doing. Our mobile packages have their own timing, and we'll give you a realistic estimate for your specific vehicle when you book.
Do I need to provide water or power?
Usually not. Our vans carry their own water tanks and run on their own power, so the large majority of jobs need nothing from you at all. A few services and setups do call for access to a spigot or an outlet — if yours is one of them, we'll tell you when you book rather than when we pull up. What we do need is a spot with enough room to open all the doors and work comfortably around the vehicle. A driveway or an open parking space is ideal, and a little extra clearance on both sides makes the job faster and safer.
Can you get rid of pet hair and set-in stains?
Yes, though they're two different problems. Pet hair is an add-on to any interior service, and it's priced separately because a heavily shed-in fabric interior takes real time and specialized tools — a vacuum alone won't remove hair woven into carpet fibers. Stains are handled with our steam-cleaning process, included in the Interior Revival package, which lifts trapped dirt from carpet, upholstery, and headliners while sanitizing as it goes. Most everyday stains come out or improve dramatically. Older set-in stains, especially on light cloth, sometimes lighten rather than vanish and can need a second treatment — we'll tell you honestly what's realistic before we start. If there's a lingering smell from smoke, pets, or a spill, that's a separate Odor Elimination Treatment that targets the source instead of masking it. What is the difference between paint correction and ceramic coating?
Paint correction removes defects that are already in your clear coat — swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and water spots — using a compound and polish process that typically clears 50% or more of surface defects. It won't fix scratches deep enough to have gone through the clear coat, and no honest detailer will promise otherwise. Ceramic coating goes on top of a corrected finish to protect it, adding a hydrophobic layer that repels water and grime and shields the paint from UV rays, road salt, and de-icers. The two are usually done together, since coating a defective surface just seals the flaws underneath it.
How often should I have my vehicle detailed?
For most local drivers, a maintenance detail every three to four weeks is the right rhythm — a proper hand wash, a quick interior clean, wheels, and glass to hold the results of your last big service. We run that on recurring plans at bi-weekly or monthly intervals, so it happens without you having to think about it. A deep interior clean like our Interior Revival is more of a once-or-twice-a-year reset for most people, though kids, pets, or a long commute push that toward the higher end. If your car lives outside or covers a lot of highway miles, lean toward more frequent exterior work — or a ceramic coating, which stretches the interval out considerably.
What is the difference between ceramic coating and paint protection film?
They solve different problems, which is why plenty of drivers get both. Ceramic coating is a liquid layer that bonds to your paint and defends against UV, chemicals, and staining while making the car far easier to wash. Paint protection film is a physical urethane layer that absorbs impact — rock chips, road debris, bug etching — and self-heals light swirls with a little heat from the sun. Our PPF packages run from front-end coverage (Velvet Shield) up to full-vehicle wrapping in clear, matte, or color-change film (Velvet Armor), and all of them include a free 30-day inspection and edge check. If your commute involves a lot of highway, film on the front end is the single best investment you can make in your paint.
Do you install window tint, and what's legal in Missouri and Kansas?
Yes, in three ceramic tiers: Velvet Shade at 70% IR heat rejection, Velvet Prestige Shade at up to 88% with 99% UV blocking, and Velvet Executive Shade at up to 98% with a scratch-resistant coating and a lifetime warranty. On the legal side, front side windows must let in more than 35% of light, while back side windows and the rear window have no VLT restriction. Mirrored and metallic films aren't permitted anywhere on the vehicle, and windshield tinting is restricted. We'll walk you through what's compliant for your car before we cut anything, and we can remove existing tint if you want to change shades or upgrade.
